Greetings Holmgreen Families,

I hope this message finds you and your loved ones doing well.

While we’re not quite at the end of the school year, it’s certainly approaching quickly! It has been a true pleasure getting to know you and your students. My time with your children has been incredibly rewarding, and I’m grateful for the relationships we've built together.

A lot has happened since my last update, and one of the highlights was our Family Literacy Day, hosted right here at Holmgreen. This event was something truly special—it gave our students and families the chance to celebrate literature through reading and unique shared experiences. It was wonderful to see parents and students enjoying a meal, learning, and reading side by side, all in the name of literacy and love for one another. Families also had the chance to explore strategies for supporting reading at home and take home free books for all their children. I’m so thankful to our parents for taking the time to join us in our classrooms and support our students.

As the year winds down, I want to make sure you’re aware of a few final opportunities to connect with us:

• NEF 5K Walk/Run: If you haven’t signed up yet, please consider registering for this fun and meaningful event. You can find the registration link and more information below. Our campus has benefited greatly from the Northside Education Foundation—many of the programs and services we provide are possible because of NEF’s support. I’d love to see strong representation from Holmgreen staff and families at this year’s event! Whether you’re a first-time participant or a returning one, you're in for a great experience. It’s a celebration of Holmgreen, NISD, and the power of community.
• Holmgreen Parent Wellness Day: We’re inviting all parents to join us for a special day focused on you. There will be food, activities, prizes, and opportunities to relax and connect. More details are below, and you can RSVP using the link provided. Taking care of yourself is one of the best ways to care for those you love—I hope you’ll join us for this well-deserved day of wellness.

Partners Resource Network is the Parent Training and Information Center for our area, funded through the Department of Education Office of Special Education.

They are here to help parents:
• Better understand their child's disability
• Understand state and federal education laws
• Learn about options, programs, services, and resources
• Participate fully as a team member with professionals in planning services for their children
• Communicate more effectively with professionals
• Provide follow-up support for educational programs
They provide free workshops, training, information, and referrals to parents and professionals who work with children with disabilities ages birth through 26.
