Rayburn Family Newsletter - March 20, 2026

Welcome back from Spring Break. I hope your family had time to rest, recharge, and get ready for the important weeks ahead.

As we head into the final stretch of the school year, it is critical that we stay focused and finish strong. STAAR testing begins in just a few weeks, and starting April 14, we will have testing taking place each week through the end of the school year. That means now is the time for all of us, students, staff, and families, to stay locked in on our goals for academic success.

We need your partnership to make sure students are at school every day, on time, prepared to learn, and showing up with a positive attitude. Attendance, effort, and mindset will make a big difference during this season. Our students have worked hard all year, and we want to make sure they have every opportunity to show what they know.

The end of the year is approaching quickly, and we are committed to finishing on a high note. Thank you for your continued support and for standing with us as we help every student succeed.

Wonderful offerings in March - Join us for our Spring Fling Family Night including a resource fair with various community agencies on March 24th and for a morning for the whole family on Saturday, March 28th at 8:30 am for our 2nd Annual Love Our School Cleanup & Beautification Day. We will be making Rayburn more beautiful by cleaning up and planting. Help us support Project A.C.O.R.N. that day and enter chances to win plants to take home. 

Coffee chats will include a Coffee, Canvas, & Creativity celebrating FIESTA and a Spanish session on Child Abuse Awareness where you will create your own Card Board Kid to display in your yard! We can't wait to see you!

Acompáñenos en nuestra Noche Familiar "Spring Fling", que incluirá una feria de recursos con diversas agencias comunitarias el 24 de marzo. el 24 de marzo y vengan a una mañana para toda la familia el sábado 28 de marzo para nuestro 2.º Día Anual de Limpieza y Embellecimiento "Love Our School" a las 8:30 de la manana. Estaremos embelleciendo a Rayburn mediante la limpieza y la plantación de vegetación. Ayúdenos a apoyar al Proyecto A.C.O.R.N. ese día.

Nuestras Charlas de Café incluirán una sesión de "Café, Lienzo y Creatividad" para celebrar la FIESTA de San Antonio, y una sesión en español sobre la Concientización del Abuso Infantil, donde podrán crear su propio "Niño de Cartón" (Cardboard Kid) para exhibirlo en su jardín.

On Tuesday, March 24th, Rayburn will have our Spring Fling Family Night from 4:30-6:30. We invite all Rayburn families to attend an evening full of fun academic activities and amazing community resources! We will be serving nachos until they run out and all students can earn extra credit by participating in the activites. 
As a reminder, all students must have a parent or guardian with them in order to attend the event!

Threats Are No Joke! is a powerful PSA that highlights the serious consequences of making or sharing threats, even if they're meant as a joke. In this PSA, viewers see how a single text message shared among students quickly escalates into chaos, triggering fear, confusion, and a full law enforcement response. This PSA serves as a critical reminder that in today's world, there's no such thing as “just a joke” when it comes to threats about school violence, school safety, or harm to others. Whether spoken out loud, posted online, or sent in a text, threats, real or fake, can lead to legal consequences, school discipline, and have long-term consequences for a student's future.
