PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
What an incredible week we've had at Rayburn. I want to start by congratulating all of our 6th and 7th grade students who were honored at our awards ceremony this past Wednesday. It was a joy to celebrate their hard work, growth, and accomplishments. Each recognition was well deserved, and we are so proud of what they’ve achieved this year. A big shout-out also goes to our 8th grade boys basketball team for their outstanding performance during Tuesday’s student vs. faculty basketball game. While the teachers may have taken the win, they are definitely feeling the effects of that victory. Our students played with heart, teamwork, and determination. Exactly what we love to see from our Raiders. Looking ahead, we’re excited for the student vs. faculty volleyball game happening this Tuesday. It’s sure to be another fun and spirited matchup!
As a reminder, next week is our final week of school, beginning with the Memorial Day holiday on Monday. While we wind down the year, please remember that attendance still matters and our campus behavior expectations remain in full effect. Let's finish strong together. We’re also looking forward to celebrating our 8th grade students during the 8th Grade Celebration on Wednesday, May 28th, at the John Jay High School auditorium. More information can be found down below in the newsletter.
Thank you for your continued support. Have a safe and relaxing three-day weekend, and we look forward to seeing everyone back on Tuesday as we begin closing out an amazing school year!

We look forward to celebrating all 8th grade students and their accomplishments here at Rayburn Middle School!

2025-26 School Uniform Policy
Over the past few weeks, we have engaged parents, students, and staff in an important conversation about our school uniform policy. As part of this process, surveys were sent to gather your input on whether Rayburn should continue requiring uniforms or shift to a general student dress code aligned with Northside ISD district guidelines. We want to thank everyone who has taken the time to share their perspective. So far, the majority of responses from parents, students, and staff have indicated a preference to discontinue the uniform requirement and instead adopt a district-aligned dress code for the 2025–2026 school year.
We are still welcoming your feedback. The survey remains open, and we encourage those who haven’t yet responded to share their thoughts. The original survey was emailed to families on May 15th, and you can access it again here:
Your voice matters, and we want to ensure every family has the opportunity to weigh in before a final decision is made.
Thank you for your continued partnership as we shape a supportive and student-centered school environment.
