PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

We are down to our final eight days of school, and while the end is near, there's still a lot happening on campus! Please make sure to stay informed about all upcoming events. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact our front office. We’re happy to help.

Important Reminder:
Our final MAP test of the year will take place on Tuesday, May 20th. All students must bring their Chromebooks and chargers to be fully prepared for the assessment. Please ensure devices are charged and ready to go.

In preparation for the upcoming school year, we’ve sent out a Rayburn Uniform Policy Parent Survey to families of students returning to Rayburn next year. The survey was shared on Thursday, and while we’ve received some responses, we need every family’s input to help us make an informed decision about whether or not to continue our current uniform policy.

As a reminder, the current uniform consists of:

  • 6th Grade: Solid red t-shirt
  • 7th Grade: Solid grey t-shirt
  • 8th Grade: Solid black t-shirt
Bottoms must follow the NISD dress code. If we do not continue with the uniform policy, all students will be expected to follow the NISD dress code for both tops and bottoms.

You can access the survey here:
Rayburn Uniform Policy Parent Survey
If you’ve already completed the survey, thank you! There’s no need to complete it again.

Lastly, even though we’re near the finish line, attendance remains important. We want to see every student on campus and in class through the last day of school. For those enrolled in high school credit courses, attendance is still being tracked and is required for receiving course credit.

Thank you for your continued support. We hope you have a wonderful weekend, and we’ll see everyone back on campus Monday.

Library Books Due!

An email notice was sent if your student has overdue library books. Please help them find and return these books as soon as possible.

If you have a lost book that needs to be resolved or have any questions, please email librarian Mrs. Rodriguez at [email protected] Thank you for your support!

8th Grade GT Boat Races

GT participated in the 3rd annual GT Boat Races. These bright minds were tasked with designing and constructing their very own boats made out of cardboard, duct tape, and two trash bags in order to safely carry two students across a distance of 25 meters without sinking! They worked extremely hard leading up to the competition. We spent quite a bit of time working in teams creating a design plan, practicing the actual build which included lots of practice with cutting cardboard and duct tape, & learning how to row. Even though we didn't get the win, one of our teams was awarded the ExtraOARdinary Award for making it across & not giving up! I'm so proud of our kiddos for helping with all the prep work, working outside yesterday in 100 degree weather, and helping me loading and unloading all of the materials for that day. They're the best!
