PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
What a wonderful week of celebrations and achievements we’ve had here at Sam Rayburn! I’m thrilled to congratulate our newest members of the National Junior Honor Society, who were officially inducted into the Rayburn Chapter this past Wednesday evening. Your dedication to scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship sets a shining example for us all—welcome to NJHS!
A heartfelt shout-out goes to our talented band students, who delivered an outstanding end-of-year performance this past Tuesday. Your hard work and passion filled the stage with joy and pride. Congratulations as well to those musicians who received special awards that night—you make Rayburn proud!
Looking ahead, all students are gearing up for our upcoming MAP assessments. MAP Math testing begins on Tuesday, May 13th, followed by MAP Reading testing on Tuesday, May 20th. Please ensure your child’s device is fully charged—and remember to pack chargers on those days—to help us have a smooth, successful testing experience.
We also wrapped up a fantastic Teacher Appreciation Week. Thank you to our incredible teachers for the dedication, creativity, and care you pour into the Rayburn community every single day. Your impact is immeasurable, and we’re so grateful for all you do.
Finally, to all the mothers, grandmothers, and mother-figures in our Rayburn Family: Happy Mother’s Day! May your weekend be filled with love, laughter, and well-deserved rest.
Have a great weekend, and let’s finish the school year strong!
