PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

What a remarkable week of achievements and celebrations we have enjoyed at our school!

I am thrilled to congratulate our Honors Band for their exceptional performance at the Region 29 UIL Concert and Sightreading Contest. For the second year in a row, they earned unanimous first division ratings from the judgesโ€”the highest honor achievable at the contest. The hard work, dedication, and passion of these students have truly paid off, and we couldnโ€™t be prouder!

Additionally, in January, our very own 8th-grade student, Liliana Rivera, was invited to join the John Jay HS Drumline for their indoor competition season. This opportunity involved numerous after-school practices and multiple Saturday competitions. On Saturday, April 5th, the drumline competed at the TECA Indoor Drumline State Championships, finishing in 2nd place and earning the silver medal in their division. Way to go, Liliana!

This week, we also enjoyed celebrating Mr. Alvarado and Ms. Garza in honor of National Assistant Principal Week. We extend our heartfelt thanks to both for their tireless hard work and dedication to our students and the community.

I was honored to participate today in the Fisher ES Fiesta Parade, alongside our talented mariachi and dance students. It was a fantastic event filled with spirited energy, and I must commend Mrs. Quintero and the Fisher community for putting together such an amazing celebration that we look forward to each year.

Looking ahead, please note that next week marks the beginning of our first round of STAAR testing on Tuesday, April 15. Students will participate in a dry run on Monday morning to familiarize themselves with the testing environment. It is crucial that every student attends, is well-rested, and comes prepared for the day ahead.

Thank you for your ongoing support and commitment to our studentsโ€™ success. I hope you have a wonderful and restful weekend.

Community Service: Shoebox Project

We are excited to share that our AVID and Spanish 4 classes are participating in the Shoebox Project. We are holding a donation drive for hygiene products, and your support would mean a lot to us.

Please consider donating hygiene products such as soap, shampoo, toothpaste, and empty shoeboxes. Last year, we were able to donate 40 shoeboxes filled with these essential items with your help, and we hope to exceed that this year.

A special thank you to our two Rayburn families who have already contributed boxes.

Your generosity can truly make a difference in the lives of those in need.

Thank you for your support!
