I'm a proud native of San Antonio and have been immersed in the world of education for over 26 years. My journey began when I graduated from Schreiner College in 1999 with a Bachelor of Arts in Exercise Science, along with a teaching certification. During my time at Schreiner, I was part of the first women's college softball team. This experience not only helped me finance my education, but also taught me the invaluable lessons of teamwork, perseverance, and leadership.
In 2005, I furthered my education by earning a Master's in Guidance and Counseling from Texas A&M Kingsville. Five years later, I obtained my Leadership Certification from Texas A&M San Antonio.
Throughout my career, I've had the honor of working in Harlandale ISD, Edgewood ISD, and SAISD. I've taught Physical Education and Health, and coached basketball and softball. I've been privileged to work alongside some truly incredible educators, coaches, administrators, staff, parents, and community members. Their dedication and passion have shaped my journey in countless ways. From teachers and coaches to custodians, bus drivers, and support staff, I've been inspired by their unwavering commitment to education. I'm especially grateful for my family and friends, whose constant support fuels my passion for education.
I am currently an Assistant Principal at Edison High School in SAISD. I am blessed to work with the best teachers, staff and administrators everyday.
I firmly believe that education is the foundation of strong communities, families, and individuals. I've dedicated my career to helping students grow in knowledge, character, and confidence. My commitment to ensuring every child has access to a high-quality public education remains as strong as ever.
